LDI Adds Well-Known Northern Indiana Manufacturer

Indianapolis-based LDI Ltd. has acquired Polygon Co. of Walkerton. The nearly 70-year-old composite components manufacturer employs 250 in St. Joseph County. The move continues a diversification from LDI’s early days as U.S. Corrugated-Fibre Box Co. into the manufacturing, distribution and logistics industries.

Chief Executive Officer J.A. Lacy says “investing in a growing Indiana company has been a top priority for LDI. We are excited to work with the Polygon team on a robust strategy for the future and welcome them to the LDI family.” The company says the composite components produced by Polygon are typically stronger, weigh less, last longer and perform more consistently in different temperature environments than traditional steel parts.

Polygon President Mike Downs says “our manufacturing business is a great fit for LDI. We welcome LDI’s experience and their culture as a family office. We are excited to partner together to grow our business.”

Polygon has a presence in the U.S. and Asia.
