The air operated, single left gate improves production by improving flowability of the sand into the flask. It eliminates sand sticking and bridging in the hopper. Plus, proper use of the air operated left gate reduces sand spillage and clean up time.
The spring cushion suspension allows the hopper to float, isolated from vibrations induced by jolt-squeeze machines, which tend to pack molding sand. The cushioned suspension allows the molding sand to flow freely when the air operated leaf gate is opened.
The No-Choke Hopper features large radius corners to steep slopes on three sides and vertical on the front sides to prevent sand sticking and bridging. The No-Choke Hopper is from two pieces of 3/16” plate, eliminating welding in the radius corners which can cause sand build up.
The interior walls of the No-Choke Hopper are coated with three coats of special epoxy paint to prevent sand sticking and corrosion. The exterior surface is primed and painted with machinery enamel paint.
The No-Choke Molder Hopper supplies 27 cu. ft. of prepared molding sand. Extensions are available in 3/16” formed plate to extend capacities to 60 cu. ft. or as required by system.
The top is 48” square in design to allow for symmetrical mounting holes in any of the 90 degree positions, allowing the hopper to be easily turned for future applications.
The air operated, leaf discharge gate is ruggedly designed for continuous operation. A heavy duty, spring return, four-way hand valve allows the operator an effortless means of precisely controlling the exact amount of sand required to fill the flask. It eliminates over filling of the flask, reducing spill sand clean up time and improving production rates. A stainless steel chute is located beneath the air operated gate to direct the sand into the flask.
